The Story

Founded by Malaysia's own Chef Darren Teoh restaurant Dewakan is the pride of Malaysia, gathering a multitute of prestigious awards such as Malaysia's Best Restaurant, and No.46 in Asia's Best Restaurant list which was awarded by Inaugural San Pellegrino Asia's 50 Best Award.

Chef Darren is the champion for Malaysian Modern Cuisine, using unconventional and "lost" ingredients from local soil such as Cendawan Kukur, Ketumbar Air, and Buah Kulim supplied by the indigenous tribes in Malaysia. Chef Darren himself works very closely with special purveyors, to obtain specially curated produce. With his unique way of cooking and exploration of indigenous ingredients, the gracious chef has a brilliant vision for his restaurant, and recently relocated Dewakan to level 48 at Naza Tower with a perfect view overlooking the beautiful skyline of Kuala Lumpur.

The Project

Chef Darren's vision for Dewakan is to create a nostalgic, down to earth connection to the fine-dining restaurant. Most importantly, he wants to showcase the cooking, preparation process of the food to be part of dining process. Inspired by the challenge, the team is set to create an aethetic kitchen that is both beautiful in form and function.
